Meet the Administrator of Branches.
Hi! I’m Anna, a follower of Christ, a wife and a mom of 3 beautiful daughters. I have been working in the realm of Special Education for 9 years and counting! After 5 years working in the public sector my husband and I decided it was time to leave for the private sector. There are a plethora of reasons why my husband and I decided it was time for me to leave public education but the main reason was for our daughters. We wanted to be able to give them a personalized learning experience at our own pace within a real life setting that keeps Christ at the center of their education.
Which leads me to why I partnered with Solas Academy. As a Special Education Teacher and most importantly as a believer of Christ, I hold a strong conviction that children of all backgrounds regardless of ability should be able to be a part of a Christ centered and Biblically informed Homeschool co-op. With the partnering of Kat Wada and Rae Chicas we created the vision of Special Education at Solas Academy known as Branches.
The vision
Branches is able to offer families who have special needs children the opportunity to be a part of homeschool co-op that is informed and instructed from a biblical worldview. Being a part of this program will include a modified and accommodated thematic curriculum created by myself, an occupational therapist and a speech therapist. In addition the program offers parental support & consultation, the ability for students to participate in a whole and small group instruction with peers, 1:1 academic intervention after regular co-op hours. Lastly, the best highlight of this program is Branches provides an environment for special needs students to learn about the faith and be able to access the gospel curriculum that is comprehensible to their level of ability.
